Pretty sure it depends on the pc/motherboard and how usb is set up in sleep/powered off mode in bios. What i found with my nommo's was that when they wouldn't turn on, it was not getting sufficient feed from the usb cable. When i connect it to my computer, the computer doesn't recognise it.
